Warning number 2 on wrong translations

Dear පසිඳු කාවින්ද, I would like to remind you about what I said earlier of translations done by you. It seems you are doing following wrong doings.

1. Translating without reading properly so the meaning gets wrong. ex: you have translated word "region" to "ආගම".
2. You are doing word to word translations, resulting destruction of the meaning.
   

The amount of errors you are doing are too high to consider as" mistakes". I think it has reached the level that I could use the word "negligence".
Its true that wikipedians do mistakes & others (or himself)should correct, but it could reached non-tolerable level especial in a wikipedia with small number of contributors.
I Humbly beg you to make notice on this warning and make necessary steps to prevent or minimize such in the future.

Seems you have no idea of things like terms such as "මුර සංචාරක" in wikipedia. Increasingly it seems you are working to increasing your edit count & update it on your user page rather than doing some quality work. I noticed you have continued your word to word translations after the 2nd warning too. Remember corrrecting needs more time than creating & wrong translations of articles on wikipedia name-space could create lot of problems in the future. It seems we are wasting our time talking about this user & trying to correct him for several reasons:

1. It seems both the Administrators are madly in favour of this user. Bingua protected him from being blocked in spite of being a sock puppet; Lee is now blaming me of using bad language and had declared that he firmly believes that this user is very much useful
2. As we can see the user's Sinhala is very very poor - almost impossible to correct
3. He is of a kind and does not listen to any one - swollen-headed or high-heded
4. One of this days he will pass 1000 edits and one of the two administrators will invite him to become and administrator and he will be appointed.

I propose that we should concentrate on a plan of action to uplift the Sinhala Wikipedia. At the moment we are traveling in several directions. Hi Pasindu again

In the article විකිපීඩියා:මාධ්‍ය භාවිතය සදහා උපදෙස් , 2 tabs "මාධ්‍යය හැඳින්වීම" and "ශ්‍රව්‍ය සහ දෘෂ්‍ය" is translated. There are some mistakes but for me article is readable and understandable. But the tab "මිඩී" is not yet translated. Pls tranlsate it when you have time ( this is just a request since no one in Wiki can force anyone to do things). Once it is also translated , the article is complete. I saw you started translating වින්ඩොස් මාධ්‍ය වාදකය and it also looks promising. Pls complate that too. It is very late to ask. You have done so many blunders so not easy to correct.

So if you really want to be a good contributor, I will tell you the easy way.

1. Put {{Blocked user}} tag on all your sock puppet accounts which are now blocked.
2. Put {{Retired}} tag on your existing non blocked account(s)
3. Read විකිපීඩියා:පිරිසිදු ඇරඹුම, විකිපීඩියා:Sock puppetry and විකිපීඩියා:වාරණ ප්‍රතිපත්තිය and try to understand concepts, logic and guidelines in those.
4. Do a පිරිසිදු ඇරඹුම (As far as I know there is no need of letting wiki community know about your previous history at this point)
5. Start contributing with slow phase.
6. Interact with fellow wikipedians in a social and ethical manner.
7. Try to do quality work rather than a big quantity of work.

By the way http://www.google.com/transliterate/sinhalese is an easy way to write in Sinhala. What happens here is you basically write in singlish and it transliterates to sinhala. And you can get alternative words for the same sound by pressing backspace. Or you can use the UCSC realtime sinhala Unicode Converter. I have observed many many times that you are translating english in to sinhala totally destroying the meaning. By a massage u have posted in a talk page I realized that you are using madura dictionary. It is very inaccurate dictionary. Please use a better dictionary.

Other advices I would like to give u are

• Try to create content by your own rather than just translating
• If translating go for meaning to meaning translation (not word to word translation)

No dictionary will give be a panacea to this issue. Even Madhura is all-right but along with it you should use your common sense. You should read Sinhala Books, Magazines, Newspapers etc and be thorough with Sinhala words. Then you can use them appropriately. For Example Madhura will give a list of Sinhala words. You will have to select one which is most suitable. For that you will require that experience I just mentioned. Unfortunately you can not build this maturity in a short time. BTW you can try some glossaries. The Government Publication Bureau had published glossaries for different subject areas. Visit their outlet somewhere in Colombo Fort. In addition associate lots of Dictionaries. If you use one then you will become eccentric. Be open to accept any idea. The latest thing you have done is translating an English title to Sinhala. That will make no sense as a Sinhala reader will not search using that term. The Hotel in Colombo Inter-Continental can not be translated to අන්තර්-මහාද්වීපික හෝටලය. No sense in such. No one will use අන්තර්-මහාද්වීපික හෝටලය to look for it. In sinhala it will be referred as ඉන්ටර් කොන්ටිනෙන්ටල් හෝටලය. Think on these lines. BTW i would like to suggest one thing. If you are strong in IT area concentrate on that area. Do not worry about other things that happen around you. Slowly try other areas when you are confident about Sinhala terms. ඔබ කියන දෙය මට නොතේරේ. යම් සැකිල්ලක ප්‍රලේඛනය තනන්න යන්නෙහි අර්ථය කුමක්ද? ප්‍රලේඛනය යනු සැකිල්ලකි. එය සැකිලි වල අගට යෙදේ. එවිට සැකිල්ල සෘජු ලෙස විවෘත කල විට කිසියම් පණිවුඩ දර්ශනය වෙයි. අන්තහ්කරණය කළ විට දිස් නොවේ. එයට අමතරව සැකිලි ලේඛය තැනුයේ නම් සැකිල්ල සෘජු ලෙස විවෘත කළ විට සැකිල්ල භාවිතා කරන අයුරු ආදී විස්තර දිස් වෙයි. දැන් මට පවසන්න කුමක්ද අහෝසියට හේතුව කියා. --- අස්ලාන් (talk) 13:25, 2 දෙසැම්බර් 2011 (යූටීසී)
