Problem with main page?

Aren't you see the problem with main page? The Wikipedia's main page isn't automaticaly updating! I think this may be an small kind of Bug...පසිඳු කාවින්ද  ^{සාකච්ඡාව} 14:10, 24 මැයි 2011 (යූටීසී)

Alternate Spellings

Dear Lee

You have not deleted the කලු ජුලිය saying that it is keeping for possible alternate spelling. But I feels these kind of typing mistakes could not be considered as alternate spellings. In english they hav given color and colour as examples. Similarly we could keep things such as පිරිවෙන & පිරිවෙණ as both are accepted and things such as r මුං කිරිබත්, මුංකිරිබත් & මුං කිරි බත් as no universal agreement on Sinhala පද බෙදීම. Due to these reasons I think කලු ජුලිය should be deleted.

I thought I replied to this. Sorry about it. Not everybody is good with Sinhala spellings. Someone may try to start an article with the wrong letters if we do not have it as a redirect for the correct name. In this given scenario the original article was created with the wrong spelling. Dear Lee,

I agree with you 100% ind its a fact that everybody is not goot at sinhala spellings. But this is not a bout a spelling mistake. If you are talking about කළු ජූලිය & කලු ජූලිය I can accept those as alternate spelling, but ජු instead of ජූ is a clear typing mistake. According to the current guidelines or accepted norm there is no room to keep typing mistakes. If you think such typing mistakes should be keep & redirect, as user (not as an admin) you could start a discussion on such.

PS:1- I do not think its good to do discussions here as I'm retired, but I think I have a ethical obligation to answer this because its an answer to a question I entered before I got retired.

PS:1- Now I know your talk page is not a good place to discuss these type of important things because you have shown by doing that you remove the discussions that you don't like as you wish. Hence I do not know if this is going to be a good one or bad one to you, I will not answer any discussion even if it is directly related to me as long as its on your talk page.

Finally I have to say that I believe you are a great & important user in sinhala wikipedia, but since last few weeks you have taken decisions and talked in talk pages without proper study of the real situation & without proper understanding of what other is really trying to say. This could be because of reasons like being too busy and you quickly responding without spending time to think deep on it. I love to see the good-old-great, Lee back soon. Why Big Letters in නාලන්දා විද්‍යාලය? Do Nalandians/Old Nalandians suffer from Eye Diseases or had Politics crept into Sinhala Wikipedia? Please comment sir. @ශ්වෙත: I was wondering the same. Last time I checked there were no issues of that sort with them ;-)... anyway it's possible the user currently developing the article has issues with his eye sight. There is also a chance that he is not used to Wikipedia standards. (I didn't check how the article now.
