ඇන්ගෝලා නිලවශයෙන් ඇන්ගෝලා සමුහාණ්ඩුව නමින් හඳුන්වන අතර දකුණු මධ්යම අප්රිකානු රටකි. එහි මායිම් වන්නේ දකුණින් කැමීබියාව, උතුරින් ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදී කොන්ගෝ සමුහාණ්ඩුව සහ නැගෙනහිරින් සැම්බියාව ය. එහි බටහිර තීරය පවතින්නේ අත්ලාන්තික් සාගරයටය. කැබින්ඩා ප්රාන්තයේ කොන්ගෝ සමුහාණ්ඩුවට සහ ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදී කොන්ගෝ සමුහාණ්ඩුවට මායිමක් ඇත. ඇන්ගෝලාව 10 වැනි ශතවර්ෂයේ සිට 1975 දක්වා පෘතුගීසි විදේශිය ප්රදේශයන් ලෙස පැවතුණි. නිදහසින් පසු ඇන්ගෝලාව තුළ 1975 සිට 2002 වර්ෂය දක්වා සිවිල් යුද තත්ත්වයක් පැවතුණි. අප්රිකානු උප සහරාවේ ඛනිජතෙල් හා දියමන්ති නිෂ්පාදනය කරන දෙවන විශාලතම රටයි. කෙසේ වෙතත් එහි ආයුකාලය හා ළදරු මරණ අනුපාතයන් ලෝකයේ පවතින දරුණුම ඒකකයන් අතර එකක් ලෙස නම් කොට ඇත. 2006 අගෝස්තුහි දී වර්තමානයේ ක්රියාන්විත උතුරු කැබින්ඩා ප්රදේශයේ ගරිල්ලා කණ්ඩායමක් සමඟ FLEC සාම ගිවිසුම අත්සන් තබන ලදී. ඇන්ගෝලා දේශයේ ඛනිජතෙල් වලින් 65% පමණ උපයා ගනු ලබන්නේ එම ප්රදේශයෙනි.
