ක්‍රි.වත 17 වන සියවසේදී රාජකීය යටත්විජිත ලෙසින් හැඳින්වුනු කිරීට යටත්විජිත යනු බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය අධිරාජ්‍යයට අයත්ව තිබූ යටත්විජිත වර්ගයකි.
