English: Tæm̆bili Pandol is a traditional decor made infront of the entrance gateway of Sri Lankan churches annually for their church feasts. Made out of Coconut and Areca nut tree trunks and decorated with King coconut fruits, a Coconut varient native to Sri Lanka which give this structure it's name tæm̆bili (Sinhala:තැඹිලි), the native name for the fruit. The St. Sebastian's Church pandol in the above photograph is not sponsored by the church but done by villagers traditionally by getting the material including wood and King Coconuts as donations by Coconut plantation owners of the parish or villagers with coconut trees in their homes.
