Rambukwella Sri Vipassi Mahanahimi (1989-2004)


born on October 30, 1917 in Digalle Gangoda Wallauwa, Udadumbara Gampaha East Korala, Kandy District, Samarakon Bandara was the lay name of his Ordination .Weragama Village Head of Gangoda Wallauwa in Deegalle and Madduma Kumarihami of Rambukwella Vilamune Wallauwa in Gonigoda were the parents of Mahanayake thero's. On May 12, 1930, the learned monk who studied at Mediwaka Vidyalaya, Gampaha, Udadumbara was ordained under his relative Rambukwella Sri Sobitha Mahanahimi, who held the position of Mahanahimi of the Malwatu side in 1946. After receiving basic monastic education, he received further education from Kelaniya Vidyalankara Piriven and received his ordination at Malwatu Mahavihara on May 13, 1938 under the tutelage of Pahamune Sumangala Mahanahimiyan. On June 3, 1946, he assumed the position of the Theava of Sri Dalanda Palace and was also elected to the committee on January 19, 1950. After the passing away of his preceptor Rambukwella Sri Sobitha Mahanahimi, Kundasale Sri Narendrasingha Rajamaha became the ruler and developed it. Meanwhile, on February 27, 1970, Sri Dhammasiddhi Mahanahimi of Madugalle appointed Vipassi Mahanahimiyan to the position of senior committee member and in August of the same year to the position of viharadhita of Lewella Gangarama. Meanwhile, in 1989, Sirimalwatta Sri Ananda Mahanahimi, who was the Mahanahimi of the Malwatu party at that time, passed away, and Rambukwella Sri Vipassi Thero became the Mahanahimi on November 15 of that year. Rambukwella Sri Vipassi Mahanahimi, who held the position of Mahanahimi for nearly a decade and a half, passed away on June 7, 2004
