Route diagram templates simplify the writing of Wiki tables and provide a uniform layout for route-map infoboxes, mainly for railway lines but also for other modes of transport such as waterways. Each of these templates carries a row of square icons, of which there are more than 3000, with optional text, to draw a cross-page element of the route diagram. The icons represent features such as railway track
