Flag of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic made by Mammad Amin Rasulzade
First meeting of the parlament of Azerbaijan Democractic Republic. Observe the crescent on the middle field of the flag
See the flag with the small crescent on the red field behind soldiers of ADR

Yes, I know. But the correct and original flag of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (from 9 November 1918 till 28 April 1920) was with the crescent on the red field. See the flag made by the chairman of the National Council of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic Mammad Amin Rasulzade in the Museum of the History of Azerbaijan. Also you can see the photo of the flag on the photo of the firts meeting of the Azerbaijani parlament on the 7th December 1918 - the crescent is smal and on the middle field. --Interfase (talk) 09:59, 22 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply

We can also see the flag with the crescent on the red field behind the soldiers of ADR (See attached photo). --Interfase (talk) 11:04, 22 මාර්තු 2014

You have failed to show this 1919 postage stamp . The government postal department can not go wrong. Hence this disputed flag is a variant used in 1919. -- Shwetha (talk) 13:22, 22 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply
The postage stamp is not reliable source. It is just a picture. The painter drew the crescent larger to show that this is the crescent. We cannot see there even a star. Will you now say that there wasn't star on the flag? In all other historical photos of that period we can see that the crescent is on the middle field. See also this article by Azerbaijani historian Sabuhi Ahmadov in Russian. Observe the image of the Azerbaijani flag from 9 November 1918 in this article. It is the same: blue, red and green fields with the white crescent and star on the red field. --Interfase (talk) 14:31, 22 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply
Also here is an article about Flag of Azerbaijan (Whitney Smith. Flag Lore Of All Nations. — Millbrook Press, 2001. — С. 13. — 112 с. — ISBN 9780761317531):

AZERBAIJAN (ah-zer-bie-JAHN): Ali Bay Huseynzada, the leading nationalist of Azerbaijan, created its modern national flag. The colors of that tricolor stood for the Turkic people (blue), their lslamic faith (green), and the commitment to modernization. In the center of the flag was the traditional Muslim star and cresent. The eight points stood for the eight Turkic peoples, including the Azerbaijanis. This flag was used from 1918 to 1920, when Azerbaijan was independent, and it was revived on February 5, 1991. After the fall of the Soviet Union, independence for Azerbaijan under this flag was proclaimed on August 30, 1991.

As you see even Whitney Smith claims that the modern national flag was used from 1918 to 1920. --Interfase (talk) 14:33, 22 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply
How are you so sure that the person who drew the figure for the stamp drew the crescent in the flag large " to show that it is a crescent" ? Do you have credible evidence for that? Fine. We will keep your last revision for 7 days. We will revert back to my last revision if English Wikipedia does not accept your arguments within that period. --- Shwetha (talk) 14:54, 22 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply
Look, in Russian Wikipedia I made the article about the flag of Azerbaijan the good article. There also were some debates and attempts to write that in 1918 the flag was with wide crescent. As a result we reached a consensus that the pictures couldn't be reliable sources. Only reliable secondary works and photos can show which kind of the flag was. I showed you the work of Whitney Smith claiming that the modern flag was used from 1918 to 1920. There is also an article by Azerbaijani historian Sabuhi Ahmadov in Russian. Observe the image of the Azerbaijani flag from 9 November 1918 in this article. It is the same with the modern one. As a result in Russian Wikipedia you cannot find this wrong flag with large crescent. --Interfase (talk) 22:19, 22 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply
We will stick to my last comment and seven days are provided. It is a large and responsive community and hence referring to their decision is fair enough. In the sources you refer the main & standard flag may be shown. However, the issue here is whether the disputed flag was an alternative flag used in that period. Please do not scramble the two issues. -- Shwetha (talk) 00:43, 23 මාර්තු 2014 (යූටීසී)Reply
