ආර්මේනියා නිලවශයෙන් ආර්මේනියා සමුහාණ්ඩුව නම්වේ. යුරේසියාවේ තෝතසස් ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි කඳුමුදුන් වලින් සමන්විත රටකි. බටහිර ආසියාවේ හා නැගෙනහිර යුරෝපයේ මංසන්ධියක පිහිටි මෙය, බටහිරින් තුර්කියට, උතුරින් ජෝර්ජියාවට, නැගෙනහිරින් ඩි ෆැක්ටෝ නිදහස් රාජ්‍යයට, නගොනො කරබැක් සමුහාණ්ඩුවට, අසර්බයිජානියට, දකුණින් ඉරානය සහ අසර්බයිජානි නක්චිවාන්වලට මායිම් වේ. අතීතයේ සෝවියට් සමුහාණ්ඩුවට අයත් වූ ආර්මේනියාව වත්මන ඒකීය බහු පක්ෂ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී ජාතික රාජ්‍යයක් වන අතර, එයට පැරණි ඓතිහාසික සංස්කෘතිමය ඉතිහාසයක් තිබුණි. ආර්මේනියා රාජධානිය 4 වැනි ශතවර්ෂයේ මුල් කාලයේ පැවති ක්‍රිස්තු ධර්මය වැළඳ ගත් මුල්ම රාජ්‍යය විය. (සාම්ප්‍රදායික දිනය 301). නව ආර්මේනියා සමුහාණ්ඩුව ඔවුන්ගේ ජාතික දේවස්ථානය වශයෙන් ආර්මේනියානු අපොස්තලිත පල්ලිය විසින් පිළිගෙන ඇති අතර, සමුහාණ්ඩු තුළ දේවස්ථාන හා රාජ්‍ය අතර වෙන් කිරීම් ආර්මේනියානු අපොස්තලිත පල්ලි අතර රාජ්‍ය නීති පද්ධතිය තුළ තිබේ. ආර්මේනියාව අන්තර් ජාතික සංවිධාන 40 කට වැඩි ගණනක සාමාජිකයෙක් වන අතර එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානය, යුරෝපානු කවුන්සිලය, ආසියානු සංවර්ධිත බැංකුව, නිදහස් පොදු රාජ්‍ය මණ්ඩලය, ලෝක වෙළෙඳ ‍සංගමය සහ ලා ෆ්‍රන්කෝෆෝනි වේ. එය CSTO හමුදා සන්ධානයේ සාමාජිකයෙක් ද වන අතර, නේටෝහි සාමය සඳහා සහයෝගිතාවයෙහි සහයෝගිතාවය ද දරයි. 2004 වසරේ එහි හමුදා නොසෝවෝහි නේටෝ මෙහෙය වූ අන්තර්ජාතික හමුදාවක් වන KFOR සමඟ සම්බන්ධ විය. එය යුරෝපියානු ආර්ථික සංගමයේ නිරීක්ෂණ සාමාජිකයෙක් වන අතර, පොදු රාජ්‍ය මණ්ඩලයේ ද සාමාජිකයෙකි. මෙහි මතුවෙමින් පවතින ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදයක් තිබේ. ආර්මේනියාව මධ්‍යම මානව සංවර්ධනයන් පවතින රටක් ලෙස නම් කොට ඇති අතර, එහි ජනගහනයෙන් 10.6% ක් ජාත්‍යන්තර දිළිඳු තීරයට පහලින් සිටි ඒක පුද්ගල දිනක ආදායම ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් 1.25 පමණ වේ.
